The Spirit Warrior
Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, Shamanic Practitioner
From as far back as I can remember, I always had empathy for anyone who was hurting, physically, emotionally or mentally. In my early years of being in the workforce, I found myself in the restaurant business. For anyone who has worked in restaurants, we know how straining it is on the back and feet. I would take five minutes of my time and just start massaging my coworkers shoulders just so they can get through the shift. They all told me to get into massage therapy work because they always felt relief afterwards. When I reached the age of 30, I started looking at my life and setting goals. I felt myself drawn to helping people through massage therapy. I signed up for the curriculum at the Institute of Therapeutic Massage in Haskell, NJ. Just before I signed up I was experiencing some anxiety for the first time in my life and learning massage help to eliminate or better manage those feelings. That’s when I knew I was on the right path for my life’s journey.
While in school I was introduced to spiritual healing work, Reiki. I instantly connected with the work and it felt like an awakening. I later indulged my passion and took more classes to become a Reiki Master Teacher.
A few years later I became acquainted with a shaman who specialized in Vedic Astrology/birth chart reading. For those who do not know, a shaman is a healer who communicates with the spirit world to heal those in the physical world. That day has forever changed my life. On a piece of paper it basically had what my soul has experienced thus far in this lifetime, and guided me to what my future holds. In a nutshell, he basically told me that I was meant to be a healer/shaman and that I needed to be doing this type of work. Thus began my journey to learn more about it and he recommended some books for me to read. I was teaching myself for about a year till I came to a point where I needed a teacher. This is when I started my apprenticeship with the renown shaman, Adam Kane from Shaman’s Dawn. 2 years later, I was initiated as a shaman practitioner.
Nearing the age of 40, I felt there was another piece to the puzzle I still needed to find. I practiced yoga on my own occasionally and knew the healing properties it had. I inquired to learning yoga through a school in Ocean Grove, NJ called Ohana Rising Yoga School. When I walked into the studio and met the teacher, I knew this was my next healing modality to use. Learning yoga is more than just postures, I learned meditation, breath work, and eastern philosophies. After 9 months of training, I got certified through the school and yoga alliance.
I started The Spirit Warrior so I can start using these healing modalities to heal mind, body, and spirit. Health is a state of complete harmony of all three. When one is free from physical disabilities, and mental distractions, the gates of the soul open. My goal is to help anyone find relief from anything holding them back from their true self!
